10th Annual Walk to remember
On Sunday, December 5, 2020 at 1:00 pm we will be meeting in front of Lord Byng for our 10th annual walk to remember classmates that are no longer with us.
The original concept came from Wayne, who a few years ago wrote:
in December 2012 a number of us got together on a rainy Sunday afternoon to walk the old 2.2 in memory of our classmate Robert Rutley, who died suddenly in November of that year. I believe everyone who joined this modest trek got something spiritual out of the experience. I know I did. As we parted with hugs, handshakes and kisses, we agreed to do it again next year. And we did. It rained again, but as happened in the first year, for a few minutes along the trek the clouds broke and the sun popped through.>
I hope to see many of my old classmates there.
We hope to continue holding this walk on the first or second Sunday in December every year.
Cancelled due to COVID.

The 8th Annual Walk update
For the 8th consecutive year, on a Sunday in December, a cadre of Lord Byng grads from classes ’73 and ’74 walked the 2.2 miles from the school to Blanca and back along 16th Avenue. This is an annual walk in celebration of classmates who remain with us only in memory and spirit. Participants in this event change a bit from year to year, but one thing remains steadfast: A friendship of 40-plus years is a fiercely resilient thing. Following the walk, we gathered at The Pink Mansion, where Nora Maxwell spoiled us, as she does every year. — Wayne Moriarty
