Annual Walk to Remember
A bunch of us meet up on the second or third Sunday in December in front of Lord Byng for our annual walk to remember classmates that are no longer with us. Below is something Wayne Moriarty wrote in 2012:
My dear friends from Byng, in December 2012 a number of us got together on a rainy Sunday afternoon to walk the old 2.2 in memory of our classmate Robert Rutley, who died suddenly in November of that year. I believe everyone who joined this modest trek got something spiritual out of the experience. I know I did. As we parted with hugs, handshakes and kisses, we agreed to do it again next year. And we did. It rained again, but as happened in the first year, for a few minutes along the trek the clouds broke and the sun popped through. I like to think it was Rob who arranged that, like a wink from above. With that said, I propose we meet again this year on the steps of Byng on Sunday, December 14 at 1 p.m. Hope to see you there.
Wayne.
Mini Reunion
At some point during the summer, often in July, Nora Maxwell hosts a Mini Reunion for those interested in attending. We get together in the backyard of her ‘Pink Mansion’ and catch up while nibbling on whatever attendees bring. These gatherings are usually announced in our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/414983555179865. There are Currently 110 members of this group.
Our 50th Reunion will be in 2024, stay tuned for updates.
